Blog Entry #2

As each day pass, things are discovered and things are refined. The past affects our present and future and things that are learned by our ancestors or by our predecessors is passed along generations. Throughout our history this has happened. So, regarding how language research has impacted language teaching practices today, I feel like it has had a great impact in how we learn a language.         In our textbook, Teaching by Principles: An Interactive Approach to Language Pedagogy by H. Douglas Brown and Heekyeong Lee, there is a whole chapter dedicated to the evolving teaching practice regarding language acquisition titled “A Century of Language Teaching”. As you flip through the chapter you see the series of methods in ways that language acquisition has been taught.
